Alaska
Raphaël Fiegen, adventurer and musher from Luxemburg, is planning to cross Alaska with his sleddogs. Starting in Fairbanks (the departure will be combined with the start of the Yukon Quest, the hardest sleddograce in the world) he will do, during the months of February and March, more than 700 kilometers through the Denali National Park (with the highest Mountain in North America – the Mount McKinley) to reach Anchorage (the biggest city in Alaska and the start of the Iditarod, the longest sleddograce in the world). The difficulty of this expedition will not only be that he and his dogs will be alone in the artic wilderness, but also that they will cross the taiga and the tundra. This means that they will be above the tree line and will penetrate in very difficult terrain. Additionally temperatures of about minus 40 degrees Celsius will increase the difficulty of this expedition.
